Urban Transport

Public transport is the heart of every modern city. Every day it enables thousands of people to get to work, school or favorite places quickly and comfortably. Behind every journey by bus, tram, trolleybus or metro stand dedicated professionals – drivers, engineers, mechanics, dispatchers and administrative staff, who take care of the safety and comfort of passengers.

Federation of Transport Trade Unions (FTTU) is here to protect the rights and interests of the people who keep the city moving.

Problems in the Urban Transport sector

Working in public transport is full of challenges. Here are some of the most common problems faced by employees:

Busy working hours – long shifts and irregular schedules.

Lack of safety – risk of accidents and aggression from passengers.

Insufficient pay – labor is often not adequately rewarded.

Poor working conditions – outdated equipment, lack of maintenance and comfort.

Stress and tension – constant pressure and responsibility.

These problems affect not only the workers, but also the quality of the service provided to the residents using public transport.

How the Federation protects workers' rights

How the Federation protects workers' rights

How the Federation protects workers' rights

FTTU advocates for the right to decent working conditions and equality for all. This is how we support people working in public transport:

Protection of labor rights – legal support, preparation and conclusion of collective bargaining agreements, conducting negotiations and social dialogue with employers, municipalities, and institutions.

Improving working conditions - by conducting collective bargaining, negotiating better working conditions, monitoring compliance with labor legislation, participating in working groups and advisory councils, as well as actively reporting to institutions in case of violations or risks to the health and safety of workers.

Financial support – we provide assistance in emergencies, accidents, and serious illnesses. We provide access to mutual benefit funds – MSF (Mutual Support Fund) and NMSF.

Information and consultation – we provide up-to-date and reliable information regarding changes in legislation, rights and obligations of workers, as well as opportunities for professional development and training.

Collective representation – your voice in negotiations with employers and institutions.
