FTTU conducted a training in the city of Sofia on the topic 'Organizing and conducting strike actions' and 'Collective bargaining'

On 18/11/2025 in Sofia, a training session on the topic 'Organizing and Conducting Strike Actions' and 'Collective Bargaining' was held, organized by the Federation of Transport and Trade Unions (FTTU). The event was part of the federation's initiatives to enhance the union competence among workers in transport.

More than 50 union members participated in the training – representatives of 'Sofia Electric Transport', 'Sofia Autotransport', 'Metropolitan', and 'Sof Connect'. Participants had the opportunity to share experiences, discuss current labor challenges in the sector, and become acquainted with good practices for effective collective bargaining and protection of workers' rights.

The training was led by Todor Kapitanov – vice president of CITUB, and Nikolay Stoyanov, lawyer of FTTU, who presented the current legal framework, the main steps in organizing strike actions, and key moments in the collective bargaining process. The event was also attended by the chairman of the FTTU, engineer Alexander Shopov, who welcomed the participants and emphasised the importance of active union activity and social dialogue.

The training proceeded in a constructive atmosphere, with real cases discussed, ideas exchanged, and future steps outlined to improve working conditions and social partnership in the transport sector. After the trainings held in Varna and Sofia, FTTU considers that the union activists are better prepared for effective organization of protest and strike actions.
