Meetings have begun with the workers in the city transport in Sofia.
Mar 28, 2025

In recent days, the chairman of FTTU, Eng. Alexander Shopov, held meetings with employees at "Sofia Public Transport" and "Sofia Electric Transport" where the unsatisfactory salary increase proposed by Sofia Municipality was discussed.
The employees of both companies expressed categorical dissatisfaction with the proposal of the mayor of Sofia, describing it as insufficient and unfair given the rising living expenses, poor working conditions, and ongoing staff shortages.
They categorically rejected the possibility of increasing incomes through bonuses and demand a permanent and real increase in basic salaries.
As a result of the meetings, the employees declared readiness for protest and strike actions if a fair agreement on the increase of basic remunerations is not reached, expecting both Sofia Municipality and the state to take responsibility for their demands.
In the coming days, the meetings at depots and garages will continue to hear the position of all workers and discuss further steps.
