Meetings with public transport workers have begun in the city of Sofia

In recent days, the Chairman of the FTTU, Eng. Aleksandar Shopov, held meetings with the employees of "Stolichan Avtotransport" and "Stolichan Elektrotransport", during which the unsatisfactory salary increase proposed by the Sofia Municipality was discussed.
Employees in both companies expressed absolute dissatisfaction with the proposal of the Mayor of Sofia, describing it as insufficient and unfair in relation to the rising cost of living, poor working conditions, and the ongoing shortage of staff.
They categorically rejected the possibility of increasing income through bonuses and are demanding a permanent and real increase in basic salaries.
As a result of the meetings, the employees declared readiness for protest and strike actions if a fair agreement for the increase of basic salaries is not achieved. They expect both Sofia Municipality and the state to take responsibility for their demands.
In the coming days, the meetings across the depots and garages will continue in order to hear the position of all workers and discuss the next steps.
