The Sofia Municipal Council approved the budget for Sofia and is increasing salaries in public transport by 300 BGN.

May 29, 2025

Today the Sofia Municipal Council (SMC) adopted the capital's budget!

Within the approved economic framework, an increase in the basic salaries by 300 BGN for all employees in the four companies of Sofia's public transport was voted, effective from April 1, 2025.

The collective union actions of our members were at the core of this hard-earned increase in sector remuneration.

It took six days of blockades for the voices of the workers to be heard and their demands to reach the attention of the politicians.

However, the challenging task remains to combat the inactivity of many regarding the improvement of working conditions.

The Federation of Transport and Trade Unions at the CITUB will continue this struggle. With our joint efforts, success is inevitable.
