Will there be salaries in public transport? 27 million euros are being sought in Sofia, Varna, and Ruse.

Nov 25, 2025

Eng. Alexandar Shopov, chairman of FTTU, today was a guest on the morning show of Bulgaria On Air. In their broadcast, he commented on the protest action of CITUB on 24.11.2025, as well as the working conditions of employees in urban transport in Sofia, Varna, and Ruse.

Shopov emphasized that the unions have long proposed a meeting between the finance minister, the mayors of the affected municipalities, and the representatives of the workers, in order to find a sustainable solution to the funding shortage in urban transport.

However, such a meeting has not yet been held, and the problems remain unresolved.
