On June 5, the President of FTTU, Eng. Aleksandar Shopov, visited the city of Pleven, where he held successive meetings with the mayor of the municipality, Dr. Valentin Hristov, and with the Executive Director of "Trolleybus Transport" EOOD - Pleven, Angel Nestorov.

During the meeting with the mayor, Eng. Shopov expressed his gratitude for the timely response of Pleven Municipality regarding Council of Ministers Decree No. 217 and the transfer of funds for subsidizing public transport, which secured a 5% salary increase for employees from the coordinates of the beginning of this year.

On the mayor's part, the issue of difficulties related to servicing unprofitable lines to small settlements in the region was raised. The meeting was held in a constructive spirit, discussing opportunities for closer cooperation between FTTU and Pleven Municipality, including the signing of a cooperation agreement.

During the meeting with the executive director of the company, Angel Nestorov, Eng. Shopov presented the FTTU initiative for preparing an analysis regarding morbidity, working conditions, and the main challenges facing workers in the transport sector.

The opportunities provided by the "Working Conditions" Fund were also discussed, as well as the procedures for applying and financing projects aimed at improving the working environment and employee safety.

For his part, Angel Nestorov drew attention to the method of distributing and paying state subsidies for public transport in Pleven, emphasizing the need for greater predictability and sustainability of financing in order to guarantee a quality transport service and the stability of the company.

FTTU emphasizes that despite the secured 5% increase, the salaries of public transport workers in Pleven continue to lag significantly behind those in several other major cities in the country. This necessitates the taking of additional measures to increase incomes.
