On June 26, 2025 (Thursday) from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM in front of the Sofia Municipality building, a protest will be held under the slogan "No budget – no salary increase".

The protest is an expression of strong dissatisfaction with the lack of an adopted budget for the Sofia Municipality, which is being unreasonably delayed, even though the state has already provided targeted funds to support public transport. Because of this, the promised increase of 300 BGN to the basic salaries of all public transport workers has not been implemented. This is not a whim, but a vital measure to retain staff and to guarantee the normal functioning of public transport in the capital.

The protest is organized by FTTU and FTW to CL "Podkrepa".

FTTU continues to insist on:

Immediate adoption of the Sofia Municipality budget and distribution of the funds provided by the state to increase basic salaries by 300 BGN for all public transport workers. Improvement of working conditions, including:

- repair and maintenance of workplaces and depots; - provision of adequate sanitary and rest conditions; - guaranteeing the possibility to use accumulated paid leave and compliance with inter-shift and weekly rest periods. - modernization of the rolling stock in order to increase safety and protect the health of drivers and passengers.

Development of policies to attract young staff through incentives, training and a guaranteed career path. Building a long-term strategy for the sustainable development of public transport in Sofia, with concrete measures for staff and technical stability.

If our demands are not met in the shortest possible time, we reserve the right to proceed to effective strike actions.

Sofia deserves quality public transport. And the workers – decent pay and treatment.
