Important for employers and employees!

From January 1, 2026, all wages, compensations, and other payments to workers and employees will be paid in euros, according to the Law on the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria.

All amounts, including those determined in levs but unpaid by the date of the change, will be recalculated at the official exchange rate, without rounding the rate itself.

The rounding is performed according to the established rules, with salaries rounded in favor of the worker, to ensure income protection when transitioning to the euro.

Employers are obliged to apply the new regulations correctly and equally to all.

FTTU has already sent an official information letter to employers, with instructions for the proper application of the law, in connection with signals received from our members and workers.

Important: If you believe that your labor rights are being violated or that the law is not being followed, notify us immediately.
