Position of the FTTU regarding the change of the executive director of "Metropolitan" EAD
Apr 24, 2025

In connection with the disseminated information about a possible replacement of Prof. Dr. Eng. Stoyan Bratoev from the position of Executive Director of 'Metropolitan' EAD, Federation of Transport and Trade Unions at the CITUB expresses its categorical support for his continuation in this role.
Prof. Bratoev is a leading figure in the development of the Sofia metro and has contributed significantly to the modernization of urban transport in Bulgaria, under his leadership Lines 1, 2, and 3 of the Sofia metro have been built and put into operation.
FTTU reminds that since 1999 CITUB has maintained a long-standing and fruitful cooperation with Prof. Bratoev and his team. During this period, stable foundations of social partnership were established, which yielded tangible results – several collective labor agreements were signed, providing improvements and continuous enhancements in the working and social conditions of the company's employees.
We are convinced that the continuation of this sustainable cooperation and social dialogue is in the interest of both the employees and the development and efficiency of urban transport in the capital.
This is why we believe that it is of crucial importance for Prof. Bratoev to continue to fulfill his leadership role, as his professionalism, experience, and responsibility are a proven factor for the stability and progress of 'Metropolitan' EAD.
