POSITION OF THE FEDERATION OF TRANSPORT AND TRADE UNIONS

Federation of Transport and Trade Unions (FTTU) expresses its categorical outrage at the speculative claims and manipulative interpretations regarding our demands for an increase in remuneration for workers in urban transport.

We consider it absolutely unacceptable, especially in the context of the extremely responsible, tense, and risky activity of the employees in urban transport in Sofia, Varna, and Ruse, to make insinuations that the unions are urging something different from what has been stated.

To clarify and avoid any speculations, the official proposal of the unions for Sofia is as follows:

Increase in remuneration by 400 (four hundred) leva, effective from 01.03.2025. Increase by 500 (five hundred) leva, effective from 01.03.2026. Increase by 600 (six hundred) leva, effective from 01.03.2027.

We consider this increase necessary in view of economic trends and inflationary pressure, which directly affects the workers in urban transport.

Furthermore, within the framework of the agreement for Sofia, we have requested:

In order to reduce pay disparities between workers in the same position at “Metropolitan” EAD, additional funds should be allocated by the Sofia municipality. The additional accruals should be received respectively from 01.09.2025; 01.09.2026; 01.09.2027. Meaning, the goal is not only a salary increase but also the introduction of fairness within the system, through a fair methodology, so that no colleagues in the same position are disadvantaged.

Any attempt to distort and misrepresent the demands of FTTU by pseudo-partners is a violation of social dialogue through false insinuations and attacks.

We remind you that only FTTU and CITUB have demands for additional funds from the state budget to increase salaries in urban transport in Sofia, Varna, Ruse, and IAAA.
