The chairperson of the trade union organization at "Port Varna - West" EAD, Penka Ilieva, stated to Radio Varna her disagreement with the intentions to concession the Varna port, announced by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Angel Zaburtov.

Ilieva expressed serious concerns about the future of the Varna-East terminal, which according to the deputy minister's statements could be transformed into an attraction area with a yacht marina – a change that threatens the jobs of over 400 people.

The workers are ready for protest actions, including closing the terminal, but at this stage they will wait for the results of the World Bank's analysis.
