CITUB held the National Conference "For a Secure Future in Green and Digital Changes"

On February 18, 2025, the National Conference "For a Secure Future in Green and Digital Changes" was held, organized by CITUB on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Confederation's establishment.
The President of CITUB, Plamen Dimitrov, opened the conference with the words: "Happy holiday, happy 35th anniversary of the largest organization in Bulgaria - CITUB."
"Thank you for the honor of being a guest at your jubilee national conference and for congratulating you on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of CITUB's creation. The Confederation has established itself as an important and valuable partner in the socio-economic life of the country. It has become a model of expertise and openness in social dialogue," said the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, in his greeting to the event's guests.
At the conference, the presence was marked by the Chairperson of the 51st National Assembly, Natalia Kiselova, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Tomislav Donchev, ministers from the cabinet, executive directors, representatives of employer organizations, and other official guests.
Their congratulatory addresses via video message were delivered by Luca Visentini - General Secretary of ITUC, Esther Lynch - General Secretary of ETUC, Oliver Röpke - President of EESC.
The Federation of Transport and Trade Unions was represented by the Chairperson Eng. Alexander Shopov, Deputy Chairperson Vladimir Tsvetanov, Chairperson of FCC Eng. Galina Ivanova, Chairperson of IAAA Viktoria Krasteva, and Deputy Chairperson of CO "Electrotransport" of "Sofia Electrotransport" JSC Madlen Yordanova.
In the panel "Green and Digital Transformation and its Impact on Employment and Working Conditions", moderated by Ognyan Atanasov - Vice President of CITUB, and Lyuboslav Kostov - Director of the ISEIO at CITUB, Madlen Yordanova, a representative of the Federation of Transport and Trade Unions, took part.
In her speech, Yordanova addressed key topics related to the "Transport" sector:
Can the regulations of the European Green Deal in the sector stimulate the development of public transport through electromobility; What are the dimensions of transport poverty in Bulgaria, and how does it affect social justice; How will the Social Climate Fund contribute to addressing transport poverty and support vulnerable groups of the population?
The conference provided a platform for working Bulgarians from all economic sectors to express their professional and trade union messages to politicians and the executive power. The event emphasized the importance of social dialogue in the context of green and digital transformation, while also highlighting the need for a just transition and ensuring decent working conditions for all workers.
