Eng. Alexander Shopov: A constructive dialogue and financial measures for sustainable urban transport in Sofia are necessary.

The Chairman of FTTU Eng. Alexander Shopov declared to News.bg that the situation with public transport in the capital remains critical and without progress in the dialogue between institutions, there is no guarantee for a sustainable solution.

Shopov indicated that there is no real dialogue with the Mayor of Sofia, and the proposed reforms and measures to improve conditions and work in transport have not been discussed in an expert format.

The main issue is the lack of budget and clear financial calculations for increasing salaries and improving the service, which according to the union leads to stagnation in reforms and creates a risk that public transport cannot function fully.

FTTU emphasizes the need for a constructive dialogue with the municipality, the state, and all interested parties to find long-term solutions that ensure sustainable and quality transport for all citizens of Sofia.
