FTTU with a blockade at "Zemlyane" garage

Dec 20, 2024

At 4:20 in the morning, FTTU at the CITUB blocked the exit of the Zemlyane garage, which halted the movement of 26 bus lines.

After negotiations with the police and calls to the employer to sign the CTA, to which he did not respond, an invitation came from the Mayor of Sofia - Vasil Terziev.

As a gesture of goodwill and solidarity with the citizens of the city of Sofia, the protesters freed the blocked buses.

After more than 2 hours of negotiations at the Sofia Municipality, where the executive director of "Sofia Public Transport" EAD - Stilian Manolov was present, justice prevailed as the negotiations for the conclusion of a new CTA in the company will begin in essence on December 23 (Monday) from 10:00 am. Host of the negotiations will be the Sofia Municipality as a guarantor for compliance with laws and norms in the negotiation process.

"Today, the workers and employees of "Sofia Public Transport" EAD should be proud that they upheld their legal position on the right to collective labor bargaining and did not allow anyone to replace their will," stated the chairman of FTTU, engineer Alexander Shopov.

FTTU - CITUB expresses its gratitude to the Mayor of Sofia and his team for the rapid response, commitment to the law, the right, and the will of the workers.
