FTTU held a third meeting with the director of GT Varna for a new collective labor agreement
Apr 20, 2026

Today, a third meeting was held in the negotiations for a new Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) with the director of „Urban Transport“ EAD – Varna.
The meeting was attended by the chairman of the FTTU, Eng. Alexander Shopov, the chair of the trade union organization in the company Pavlinka Nikolova, as well as workers from the Company.
Unfortunately, at this meeting no agreement was reached between the employer and the trade union. The positions and calculations presented by management do not meet the main demands of the workers, related to the increase in remuneration and the improvement of working conditions and social benefits.
Therefore, we are starting a procedure to collect signatures for declaring a strike in accordance with the Law on the Settlement of Collective Labour Disputes (ZUKLDS).
Our strike demands are:
• Increase the basic salaries of all workers in the Company by 120 (one hundred and twenty) euros, effective from 01.03.2026.
• Increase the additional monthly remuneration for acquired work experience and professional experience to 1.3% of the basic salary for each year of service for all workers and employees.
• Provide funds to reduce the cost of food in the amount of 10 euros per day for workers and employees for actual time worked and paid annual leave.
• Improving working conditions:u000b– Provision of sanitary facilities and toiletsu000b– Improvement of lighting and heatingu000b– Provision of work and uniform clothing.
• Observance of work schedules by ensuring the mandatory daily and weekly rest periods in accordance with the law, as well as the duration of the weekly working time.
• Ensuring the possibility of using paid annual leave for 2026, as well as deferred leave from previous years.
• Improvement of the transport schedules in order to ensure sufficient rest time for drivers at the terminal stops.
We call on all colleagues for solidarity in defending our rights to more decent pay and better working conditions.
