Today, a meeting was held at the Sofia Municipality to negotiate the parameters of the Cooperation Agreement. It was attended by the deputy mayors for finance and transport – Ivan Vasilev and Iliyan Pavlov, as well as the directors of the public transport companies in Sofia.

The municipality proposes an increase in basic salaries for all employees in the sector by BGN 100 for this year, or an increase, but only for the bonus system of ground transport companies (Sofia Motor and Electro Transport), by an average of BGN 291. The total amount available to the municipality for salary increases is BGN 15 million.

According to the proposal, if the funds are directed to the bonus system of ground transport, the employees of "Metropolitan" EAD and CGM will not receive a salary increase. The position of Sofia Municipality is that the limited resources must be directed to the most problematic positions – drivers and service personnel.

Federation of Transport Trade Unions categorically declares its disagreement with the proposed parameters and will start organizing meetings with its trade union members within the companies from next week.

They Chairperson of FTTU, Eng. Aleksandar Shopov, invited representatives of the municipality to attend these meetings to explain the proposal in detail to the workers.

FTTU recalls that the state has currently set aside only BGN 17 million in Budget 2025, which is extremely insufficient for an adequate salary increase.

In this regard, the Federation calls on its members to join tomorrow's protest organized by CITUB in front of the National Assembly from 8:00 AM to state their demands to the MPs.
