FTTU held a meeting with the SO to negotiate the parameters of the Cooperation Agreement
Mar 19, 2025

Today in the Sofia Municipality a meeting was held to negotiate the parameters of the Cooperation Agreement. Deputy Mayors for Finance and Transport – Ivan Vasilev and Iliyan Pavlov, as well as the directors of the urban transport companies of Sofia participated in it.
The municipality proposes an increase in the basic salaries for all workers in the sector by 100 BGN for this year or an increase, but only for the bonus system for land transport companies (Sofia Auto and Electro transport), averaging 291 BGN. The total amount available to the municipality for salary increases amounts to 15 million BGN.
According to the proposal made, if the funds are directed to the bonus system of land transport, workers in “Metropoliten” EAD and CGM will not receive salary increases. The position of Sofia Municipality is that limited resources should be directed to the most problematic positions – drivers and service staff.
Federation of Transport and Trade Unions at the CITUB categorically states its disagreement with the proposed parameters and from next week begins organizing meetings at the companies with its union members.
The Chairman of FTTU, engineer Alexander Shopov, invited representatives of the municipality to attend these meetings to explain in detail the proposal to the workers.
FTTU reminds that the state has currently set only 17 million BGN in Budget 2025, which is extremely insufficient for an adequate salary increase.
In this regard, the Federation calls on its members to join tomorrow's protest, organized by CITUB in front of the National Assembly at 8:00 a.m., to make their demands known to the deputies.
