FTTU held a meeting with the mayor of Varna regarding the crisis in the negotiations for a new CLA in "Urban Transport" EAD – Varna

At the invitation of the Mayor of Varna Municipality, Blagomir Kotsev, the Chairman of the Federation of Transport Trade Unions Eng. Alexander Shopov, the Chairwoman of the trade union organization at "Urban Transport" EAD - Varna, Pavlina Nikolova, and the Chairman of the Regional Council of CITUB - Varna held a meeting regarding the situation that arose after the failed negotiations for concluding a new Collective Agreement in the company.

The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Municipal Council - Varna, Hristo Dimitrov, the Director of the "Finance" Directorate, Kiril Simeonov, as well as the management of "Urban Transport" EAD - Varna.

FTTU responded to the invitation with the conviction that social dialogue is the best way to find solutions in the interest of workers and society.

During the meeting, a frank, constructive, and expert social dialogue was held, within which the demands of the trade union organization were discussed for:

  • increase in labor remuneration;

  • improvement of social benefits;

  • signing of a new Collective Agreement, guaranteeing better working conditions and higher social protection for the employees of the company.

Mayor Blagomir Kotsev and his team committed to doing what is necessary, in accordance with the financial capabilities of Varna Municipality, to find a consensus solution that would allow the conclusion of a new Collective Agreement.

The parties agreed that the next meeting would take place on July 31, 2026, when Varna Municipality will present specific parameters and possibilities for satisfying the demands put forward by FTTU.

Until then, the Federation of Transport Trade Unions remains in protest and strike readiness. Our goal remains unchanged – decent pay, better social benefits, and a fair Collective Agreement for all workers in "Urban Transport" EAD - Varna.
