FTTU held a meeting with the mayor of Varna and visited Urban Transport - Varna
Mar 26, 2025

On March 25, 2025, consecutive meetings were held in the city of Varna with the employees of “Urban Transport” – Varna, with the executive director of the company, Eng. Nikolay Antonov, as well as with the mayor of Varna, Blagomir Kotsev, and the deputy mayor of finance Hristo Rafailov.
The meetings were attended by the chairman of the FTTU, Eng. Aleksandar Shopov, the vice president of CITUB Todor Kapitanov, the chairman of the CU Pavlina Nikolova, and the regional coordinator Ana Kovacheva.
The reason for the meetings was pressing issues related to the delay in the payment of wages, working conditions, schedules, and other problems in “Urban Transport” – Varna.
The main focus was the lack of funds from the state budget amounting to 6.5 million leva, which would allow an increase in wages by 15%, which means at least 300 leva.
We remind you that FTTU and CITUB insisted on an increase in the subsidy for Varna's urban transport, but so far, this request has not been satisfied by the state.
The possibilities for signing a new cooperation agreement with the unions were also discussed with the mayor and his team.
The readiness to conduct protest actions to defend the right to decent pay and hold the state accountable was discussed with the workers.
