FTTU held a working meeting at the "Transport" Directorate to improve schedules and working conditions

Today, an expert meeting was held in the Transport Directorate of the Sofia Municipality regarding numerous reports and complaints from drivers related to public transport vehicle schedules.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of FTTU, Eng. Alexander Shopov, the chairmen of the trade union organizations in "Sofia Autotransport" and "Sofia Electrotransport", drivers from both companies, as well as the team of the Transport Directorate.
During the conversation, a number of accumulated problems were discussed:
headways/intervals of movement;
insufficient rest breaks at end stops;
traffic light cycles;
travel time between individual stops;
the need to refine some categories of lines, given their increased intensity and load;
and other factors that complicate drivers' work on a daily basis.
The meeting proceeded in a constructive dialogue, with the Transport Directorate committing to make adjustments to timetables, review the workload on individual lines and optimize traffic light intervals within possibilities, with the aim of easing drivers' working conditions and improving traffic organization.
FTTU will continue to push for real and working solutions to protect drivers and secure better working conditions!
