FTTU held a working meeting at the "Transport" Directorate to improve schedules and working conditions
May 13, 2026

Today, an expert meeting was held in the Directorate “Transport” of Sofia Municipality regarding the numerous reports and complaints from drivers related to the schedules for the movement of vehicles in public transport.
The meeting was attended by the chairman of FTTU Eng. Aleksandar Shopov, the chairpersons of the trade union organizations in “Stolichen Avtotransport” and “Stolichen Elektrotransport”, drivers from both companies, as well as the team of the Directorate “Transport”.
During the discussion, a number of accumulated problems were discussed:
the service intervals;
insufficient breaks at the terminal stops;
the traffic light cycles;
the travel time between individual stops;
the need to refine some categories of routes, given their increased intensity and load;
and other factors that make drivers' work difficult every day.
The meeting proceeded in a constructive dialogue, with the Directorate “Transport” committing to make corrections to the schedules, review the load on individual routes, and optimize the intervals of traffic light systems where possible, in order to ease the drivers' working conditions and improve traffic organization.
FTTU will continue to insist on real and workable solutions in defense of drivers and better working conditions!
