Today, the Chairman of FTTU – Eng. Aleksandar Shopov – held another working meeting with the management of "Fraport Twin Star Airport Management" AD.

The meeting was also attended by the chairpersons of the trade union organizations in Varna and Burgas – Petranka Shomova and Todor Todorov.

Prior to the meeting, the management of "Fraport Twin Star Airport Management" AD (FTSAM AD) had presented its proposal in writing for an increase in the basic labor remunerations, effective from January 1, 2026:

- 3.5% increase for the administrative staff in the Headquarters;

- 5% increase for the operational staff at Varna and Burgas airports, including the employees in the "Facility Management" department.

According to FTSAM, this proposal represents a balanced approach to the wage increase, which should guarantee the financial stability and long-term competitiveness of the company.

FTTU recalls that, according to the financial data presented by the company, there is a realistic possibility for a more substantial increase in wages.

What the proposal means for the employees:

• it does not compensate for the accumulated inflation from previous years;

• it does not lead to a real improvement in the standard of living;

• it does not correspond to the growth of the minimum wage;

• it is not commensurate with the growth of the company's revenues.

FTTU rejected the employer's proposal and insisted on a revision of the parameters.

On behalf of the workers, a concession was made from the initial demands. We proposed to the employer a 15% increase from 01.01.2025 and two subsequent increases of 5% each within 2026 (on 01.02 and 01.05.2026).

We insisted that the issue of increasing the daily meal allowance should also remain on the negotiating table. A new meeting is scheduled for 28.11.2025.
