FTTU presented its "protest Christmas validator" in the protest action of CITUB

More than 100 union members of the Federation of Transport Trade Unions actively joined the CITUB protest action under the slogan "NO to the division of workers! YES to higher incomes!"

Our members from all units of the transport sector - "Metropolitan", "Stolichen Avtotransport", "Stolichen Elektrotransport", "Urban Transport" - Varna, Municipal Transport - Ruse - were in the square to show clearly that transport workers will no longer tolerate inequality, low wages and underestimation of their work.

FTTU also presented its "protest Christmas validator", part of the CITUB Christmas corner, where there was an improvised Christmas tree, presents with specific demands, brought by the "Budget" Santa Claus and Snow White.

In his speech, Eng. Aleksandar Shopov, President of FTTU, stated: "Federation of Transport Trade Unions is here because transport is the backbone of the economy and people's daily life. But this backbone is bent by low pay, staff shortages and huge tension. Transport workers do not want handouts — they want decent pay, normal working conditions and respect for their profession. Today's protest is a clear signal: the sector will no longer allow itself to be divided and underestimated." He added that "if necessary, we will block Sofia, Varna and Ruse to defend our demands."

FTTU recalls that the necessary funds for a minimum of 10% increase in remuneration in the entire sector are:

- urban transport in the city of Sofia – EUR 23.60 million;

- urban transport in the city of Varna – EUR 2.60 million;

- urban transport in the city of Ruse – EUR 1.10 million;

Total: EUR 27.3 million.
