FTTU visited Municipal Transport and Port Complex in the city of Ruse

On April 3, 2026, the Chairman of the Federation of Transport Trade Unions (FTTU) at CITUB, Eng. Alexander Shopov, was on a working visit to the city of Ruse, during which he visited "Municipal Transport Ruse" and "Port Complex Ruse".
During his visit, Eng. Shopov inspected the sites and got acquainted on-site with the working conditions, the organization of work processes, as well as the need for repair and improvement activities. The findings made were discussed during working meetings with the executive directors of the companies – Alexander Georgiev ("Municipal Transport Ruse") and Ivaylo Bashalov ("Port Complex Ruse").
The meetings were also attended by the regional coordinator of CITUB for the city of Ruse, Boyanka Dimitrova, as well as the chairmen of the trade union organizations in the respective companies – Ivan Enchev and Nikolay Bolyarov.
During the discussions, the Chairman of the FTTU presented the activities of the "Working Conditions" Fund, emphasizing the application opportunities and financing conditions for projects aimed at improving the working environment and increasing safety at work.
Special attention was also paid to the necessity of holding sectoral meetings in the Maritime and Inland Waterway Transport sector together with employers. It was emphasized that such a format of dialogue is of key importance for better coordination between the parties, for timely identification of the main problems, and for finding sustainable solutions to support the development of the sector.
Within the framework of the meetings, the upcoming traditional sports games of the FTTU were also discussed, and support was expressed for the active participation of workers and employees in the sports initiative, which promotes team spirit and a healthy lifestyle.
