FTTU marked its third anniversary with an expanded meeting of the Federal Council

In the period September 11–13, 2026, in the city of Sliven, an away extended meeting of the Federal Council of the Federation of Transport Trade Unions /FTTU/ was held.
During the meeting, current issues related to the activities of the FTTU, social dialogue, and collective bargaining were discussed, as well as the main priorities and upcoming tasks ahead of the Federation.
Within the framework of the event, the CITUB "Trade Unionist of the Year" award for 2025 was presented to Miroslav Chakarov – Deputy Chairman of the trade union organization at "Metropolitan" EAD, in recognition of his active trade union activity and his contribution to protecting the rights and interests of workers.
On September 12, the FTTU also celebrated the third anniversary of its establishment. The Federation was established on September 12, 2023, by representatives of trade union organizations from land, water, and air transport, united by the desire for change, unification, and a return to the principles of fair, independent, and responsible trade unionism. Over these three years, the FTTU has consolidated its presence in the transport sector, expanded its structures, and continued to consistently advocate for decent wages, better working conditions, and strong collective bargaining.
The third anniversary was also an occasion to reflect on what has been achieved, but above all to look forward – towards an even stronger organization, more solidarity, and more effective protection of workers in transport.
Official guests of the event were Todor Kapitanov – Vice President of CITUB, and Maya Sarieva – Regional Coordinator of the Regional Council of CITUB for Burgas.
