FTTU and Sofia Municipality at a meeting to negotiate the Social Cooperation Agreement

Today in the Sofia Municipality a meeting was held regarding the negotiation of a new Agreement for Social Cooperation between the Sofia Municipality and the unions.

At the meeting were present the Chairman of FTTU - Eng. Aleksandar Shopov, the Chairmen of SO at "Sofia Electric Transport", "Sofia Auto Transport" and "Metropolitan".

The deputy mayors of transport and finance, as well as the directors of the companies from the city's public transport, were present from the municipality.

Before the representatives of the municipality, FTTU presented the workers' position, formed after holding a series of meetings last week in transport companies:

- The main demand of all workers is an increase in basic salaries with a fixed and equal amount for all employees in the sector.

- Categorically disagreeing with the proposed salary increase of 100 BGN from SO.

The Sofia Municipality presented its calculations, according to which an increase in remuneration of over 100 BGN will lead to a further increase in the budget deficit. With an increase of the proposed 100 BGN, the deficit is calculated at 20 million BGN.

The Federation of Transport and Trade Unions continues to insist that the state be responsible for the urban transport and financially support the municipality by providing the necessary funds for salary growth.

In response to the lack of progress from the negotiations, a joint meeting between FTTU-CITUB and FTR at KT "Podkrepa" is scheduled for tomorrow, at which subsequent protest and strike actions will be discussed.
