FTTU negotiated wage increases and social benefits for its members at Swissport Bulgaria

An increase in basic salaries, additional leave, social support, and higher compensations are among the agreements in the new collective bargaining agreement between "Swissport Bulgaria" AD and the trade union organization of FTTU in the company. The agreement covers the period from October 27, 2026, to October 27, 2028, and regulates the remuneration, working conditions, and social rights of the employees to whom it applies.

For 2026, an increase in basic monthly labor remuneration by 50 euros has been agreed upon, effective from the date of signing the CBA. This is an increase in the basic salary upon which the corresponding supplementary payments are also calculated. For 2027, an increase is planned, with the indexation percentage to be negotiated additionally.

The minimum basic monthly salary in the company is tied to the national minimum wage through a coefficient of 1.1. Supplementary remuneration for length of service and professional experience of 1.1% of the basic monthly salary for each recognized full year has also been agreed upon.

In the event of annual inflation exceeding 7%, according to the official index of the National Statistical Institute, the trade union organization has the right to request the start of negotiations to amend basic salaries. For each night hour worked or part thereof, an additional payment of 1 euro is provided, and for overtime work during rest days, an increase of 80% has been agreed upon.

Paid annual leave is determined according to length of service and reaches 23 working days for employees with more than 15 years of service. For those working under specific conditions and risks to life and health, an additional 8 working days are provided, and for employees with established irregular working hours, another 5 working days are agreed upon. In the presence of the relevant grounds, the total amount of these leaves can reach 36 working days.

The agreement also provides for additional paid leave for female employees with children up to 18 years of age: one working day with one child, two with two children, and four with three or more children.

Among the social benefits are food vouchers in the amount of 102.25 euros per month, with the amount being reduced proportionally for part-time workers working at least half of the statutory duration. Funds for transportation to and from the workplace and opportunities for sports and recreation via a "Multisport" card or similar service are provided.

Upon the birth of a child, the employer pays a one-time allowance of 460 euros. When both parents work in the company, the amount is paid to the mother. In the case of an especially severe illness of an employee or their child under 18 years of age and medical treatment expenses exceeding 5,120 euros, the possibility of a donation of 5,120 euros is provided following the submission of documents and a decision by the Board of Directors.

A significant part of the agreements involves compensations upon termination of the employment relationship. Upon acquiring the right to a pension and fulfilling the requirements for length of service with the employer or within the same group of enterprises, eight gross monthly salaries are provided for service between 10 and 20 years, and ten for service of 20 or more years. These amounts include the statutory compensation.

In case of staff reduction and other grounds specified in the agreement, compensation for unemployment for one month in the amount of two gross salaries has been agreed upon. In case of termination due to illness and fulfillment of the agreed conditions, the compensation is in the amount of three gross monthly salaries.

The CBA provides for the participation of the trade union organization in discussing changes in work organization, remuneration policy, and staff numbers. In the event of planned mass layoffs, the employer provides prior written information at least 45 days in advance, and a trade union representative participates in the selection committees. Opportunities for training, retraining, and priority consideration of affected employees for vacant positions are also provided.

The implementation of the agreement will be reviewed at least once per quarter by the Social Partnership Council. The agreements apply to members of the trade union organization of FTTU and to employees who have joined according to the procedure established in the CBA.

For FTTU, what has been achieved is a concrete result of collective bargaining in defense of income, recreation, and social security of the workers. The next task is the consistent fulfillment of the commitments made and the continuation of dialogue to improve working conditions in the company.
