Negotiations at Varna Municipality, with the participation of Mayor Blagomir Kotsev and his team, lasted for over 4 hours. It was attended by the chairman of the Federation of Transport Trade Unions (FTTU) Eng. Aleksandar Shopov, the vice president of CITUB Todor Kapitanov, the chairperson of SO "Urban Transport - Varna" Pavlinka Nikolova, the regional coordinator of CITUB for the city of Varna, as well as trade union members from FTTU.

As a result of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed, which includes the following commitments:

• An increase of 200 BGN to the basic salary for all employees in the company, starting from July 1, 2025;

• The Municipality and the company commit to attracting new staff;

• Legal support for drivers involved in road traffic accidents during work hours;

• Monitoring of working hours and limiting overtime within the limits permitted by law;

• Guaranteeing the use of entitled annual leaves, as well as weekly and daily rest periods;

• Provision of work clothing and personal protective equipment;

• Conducting mandatory medical examinations on the territory of the enterprise;

• Improving working conditions, including renovation and provision of sanitary facilities;

• Providing a panic button and protection system against attacks for drivers;

• Establishing a tripartite commission on transport, which will consider all important issues raised by workers.- other

The validity period of the agreement is until the end of 2025.

FTTU-CITUB will continue to work on negotiating the necessary salary increase for workers in GT Varna for 2026 and 2027.
