FTTU announces a growth of 200 BGN in the wages of those working in the urban transport of Varna

Negotiations at the Municipality of Varna continued for over 4 hours with the participation of Mayor Blagomir Kocev and his team. The meeting was attended by the chairman of the Federation of Transport and Trade Unions (FTTU) Engineer Aleksandar Shopov, the vice president of CITUB Todor Kapitanov, the chairman of SO "Urban Transport – Varna" Pavlinka Nikolova, the regional coordinator of CITUB for the city of Varna, as well as union members from FTTU.
As a result of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed, which includes the following commitments:
• An increase of 200 BGN to the basic salary for all employees of the company, effective from 01.07.2025;
• The municipality and the company commit to attracting new staff;
• Legal support for drivers in the event of traffic accidents while on duty;
• Monitoring of working hours and limiting overtime to the extent permitted by law;
• Guaranteeing the use of entitled annual leave, as well as weekly and daily rest periods;
• Provision of work clothing and personal protective equipment;
• Conducting mandatory medical check-ups on the premises of the enterprise;
• Improving working conditions, including repair and provision of sanitary facilities;
• Providing a driver's protection system against attacks (panic buttons);
• Establishing a tripartite transport commission to address all important issues raised by the workers.- others
The duration of the agreement is until the end of 2025.
FTTU-CITUB will continue to work on negotiating the necessary salary increases for employees in UT Varna for 2026 and 2027.
