Agreed increase of the rate under Article 110 of the Labor Code at "Metropolitan" EAD

Oct 17, 2025

On October 17, 2025, by initiative of the trade union organization of FTTU at "Metropolitan" EAD, a meeting was held with the Executive Director of the company Mr. Nikolay Naydenov.

FTTU was represented by Eng. Alexander Shopov - Chairman of FTTU, Eng. Svetoslav Iliev - Chairman of TU "FTTU-CITUB-E", and Eng. Miroslav Chakarov - Deputy Chairman of TU "FTTU-CITUB-E".

As a result of the constructive dialogue, it was agreed to increase the hourly rate for work under an additional employment contract (Art. 110 of the Labor Code) by 1 lev, effective December 1, 2025.

Furthermore, the parties agreed to a new meeting in March 2026, where the possibilities for subsequent indexation of the rate will be discussed, depending on the development of salaries and economic conditions.

FTTU insisted that the rate under Art. 110 be linked to the updates of base salaries for positions that perform additional work, to ensure fair and decent remuneration.

Although the proposal did not receive support, FTTU achieved a real increase and a commitment for new negotiations in 2026.
