"For Stronger and More Effective Trade Union Activity" – Training for Trade Union Group Leaders from "Metropoliten" EAD

On October 23, 2026, in the town of Varshets, a training session was held for 20 trade union group representatives from the Trade Union Organization of FTTU-CITUB "Exploitation" at "Metropolitan" EAD.
The training, organized by the TU organization at "Metropolitan" EAD, was held under the motto "For stronger and more effective trade union activity" and was aimed at increasing the knowledge, skills, and engagement of trade union group representatives, who play a key role in connecting the trade union organization with its members.
Guest speakers included the President of FTTU, Eng. Aleksandar Shopov, and the Federation's legal advisor, Nikolay Stoyanov. They shared their knowledge and practical experience on issues related to trade union activity, worker representation, the implementation of the collective bargaining agreement, and the protection of labor and social rights. Special attention was paid to the topic of workplace violence and harassment, their prevention, and opportunities for protecting workers.
The training was met with exceptional interest and engagement by the participants. It lasted more than three hours, and the numerous questions, shared practical experiences, and lively discussions showed how important and necessary such initiatives are for the daily work of trade union group representatives.
A strong trade union organization begins with active and well-prepared trade union members who understand the problems of their colleagues, protect their interests, and work to find solutions.
FTTU supports the initiatives of its trade union organizations for the training and development of trade union representatives, because knowledge, solidarity, and active participation are the foundation of strong and effective trade union activity.
